How to Upload Your Prescription – Pet Drugs 2U
To order prescription or veterinary-grade items (such as POM-V/VPS products), we must obtain
a valid prescription. Here's how you can submit it:
Method 1: Upload During Checkout
- Scan or photograph the full prescription page(s):
• Ensure the image is clear, in actual size, and all
four edges are visible. Blurred or cropped photos cannot be processed.
- Add your prescription items to your cart and proceed through checkout.
- In the Pets step, select the correct pet for each prescription item,
confirm the details, and click “Confirm Pet”.
- At the Prescription step, choose “Upload prescription”
and either drag-and-drop or browse to upload.
• If you have multiple distinct prescriptions, please
upload each as a separate file for quicker processing.
- Tick the required confirmation boxes and click “Next” to complete your order.
Once received, your prescription will undergo an RQP review, which may take up to two
working days. You’ll be notified via email if any clarification or correction
is needed, and once approved, your order will proceed to dispatch.
Method 2: Email Prescription
- At the Prescription stage, choose the “Email” option
and finish checkout.
- Send an email to prescriptions@petdrugs2u.co.uk, including your order
number and attaching your prescription file(s) (preferably separate images for multiple
documents).
Method 3: Post Original Prescription
- Select “Post” at the Prescription step and complete checkout
accordingly.
- Write your order number clearly on the prescription form and send it to
our return address using recorded delivery:

Note: For Controlled Drug prescriptions, we require
the original hard copy—copies, scans, or faxes cannot be accepted.
Method 4: Vet Sends Directly
If your veterinary practice can send the prescription directly on your behalf, select the
“Vet will send prescription” option during checkout:
- Provide your order number to your vet.
- Ask them to send it via email or post to us.
- Only choose this option if the practice has confirmed they will send the prescription
and it's valid—otherwise, delays or order cancellation may occur.
Top Tips for Smooth Prescription Processing
- Prescription validity:
• Standard prescriptions expire within 6 months, unless your vet
specifies a shorter timeframe.
• Controlled drug prescriptions expire after 28 days, and the full
quantity must be ordered at once.
- Avoid leaving uploads until your prescription is close to expiring—it’s best to order
early to prevent delays caused by manual checks.
