Description

Product Description This medication is used for the treatment of pain and inflammation in dogs. It is effective in managing discomfort associated with chronic osteoarthritis, as well as post-operative pain and inflammation following orthopaedic or soft tissue surgery. Always use as directed by your veterinary surgeon.

Onsior Tablets for Dogs
Prescription Only Medication (POM-V)

Onsior is used for the treatment of pain and inflammation in dogs, specifically:

Chronic osteoarthritis (a long-term joint condition causing pain and inflammation)

Post-operative pain and inflammation following orthopaedic or soft tissue surgery

Dosage Instructions:

Administer once daily, at the same time each day

Tablets should be given without food, or at least 30 minutes before or after a meal, as this improves absorption and effectiveness of the active ingredient robenacoxib

The recommended dose is 1mg/kg body weight, within a dosing range of 1–2mg/kg:

Dog's WeightTablet Dosage
2.5 to <5kg1 x 5mg tablet
5 to <10kg1 x 10mg tablet
10 to <20kg1 x 20mg tablet
20 to <40kg1 x 40mg tablet
40 to 80kg2 x 40mg tablets

 

Do not use in dogs:

With gastrointestinal disease

With impaired kidney or heart function

That are pregnant or lactating

Receiving other NSAIDs or corticosteroids

For long-term treatment, liver enzyme levels should be monitored regularly.
